A 62-year old adult, Mr Effiong Michael, has enrolled for National Diploma Programme at the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia, in Nasarawa State, to acquire advanced knowledge in his area of vocation.
Mr Effiong, who hails from Cross River State, enrolled as a student of electrical engineering, despite having over 30 years experience in his course of study.
The sexagenarian, who is a staff of the Works Department, Federal University of Lafia, said he enrolled in the school to enrich his potentials after retirement.
Mr Effiong, who looked very elated during the recent matriculation, explained that age barrier cannot stop him from achieving his goals, despite enormous responsibilities to cater for his family.
He called on youths in the country to take advantage of time to acquire knowledge in their prime and not to be overwhelmed by peer influences that may mar their future.
