A financial consultant, Mr Abba Adaudu has charged State Governments to urgently come up with palliatives to cushion the effects of the current food crises in the country.
Addressing Newsmen in Abuja, Mr Adaudu said the measure would also complement Federal Government’s efforts at releasing foods from the National Strategic Reserves and silos.
He commended Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi state for the commencement of distribution of palliatives to indigents which would bring food to the table of ordinary citizens.
Adaudu argued that what Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi state did would bring succour and reduce poverty battling the poor people in the state
The Financial Consultant believes that if other state governments adopt the same measure,it would address food shortage and end protests in some parts of the country.
He emphasized the need for government to give special attention to agriculture and support entrepreneurs engaged in large farm cultivation.
According to him, provision of financial support with adequate security will enable farmers and entrepreneurs embark on large scale farming.
He stressed that releasing food from Silos will only bring short term solutions to the current food crises
