Culture an instrument of unity among Nasarawa communities – Gade traditional ruler

A first class traditional ruler, The Gomo Babye of Gadabuke Development Area, Alhaji Aliyu Daudu, has identified culture as one of the instruments of unity among members of the communities across Nasarawa State.

Alhaji Daudu made the assertion during the weekend at a cultural festival organized by Gade Students’ Association of The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FPN) State’s branch.

Represented by the former Head of Public Administration, FPN, Mr. Yanga Ahmed Salihu, the traditional ruler regretted the way culture has been abandoned by the younger generation and called for its revival so as to ensure its sustenance.

He charged the students not to forget their cultural practises which he said is their mark of identity that should be cherished by all.

Alhaji Daudu, who expressed satisfaction with the attitude of the students for their orderliness, further advised them to concentrate on their studies and shun acts capable of jeopardizing their future.

While stating the importance of the event, the National President, Gade Students Association, Comrade Alhaji Abubakar, and The Federal Polytechnic branch chairman of the Association, Comrade Dantani Abubakar Dan’Azumi, said the event was organized to bring all Gade’s students together for the purpose of reviving their culture.

Similarly, the students union president, said they organize the annual event to review the Gate culture that is fast eroding for it not to get extinct.

Highlights of the event was the entertainment of guests with the Gade’s masquerade and display of cultural dance by the students
