The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested five suspected internet fraudsters.

The EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the suspects were arrested on Friday at kansho village in the Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue.

According to him, the arrest is sequel to the actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet – related offences.

”The suspects are Shima Francis, Ode Jesse, Odey Linus, Kingsley Obinna and Emmanuel Inaleguwu.

”Items recovered from them are one iPhone and five android phones.

”They suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he said.

Meanwhile, the EFCC operatives have also arrested one Ekene Ibegbu in connection with alleged racketeering of more than N1.5 million

 

Mr. Oyewale said the suspect was arrested by members of the Special Task Force of the Commission attached to the Enugu Command on Thursday on Owerri-Enugu Road.

He said the arrest was sequel to actionable intelligence about his suspected involvement in currency racketeering.

” He would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he said.
