FRSC flags off ember month campaign, trains executive drivers in Taraba

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zonal commanding officer, Zone RS3 in charge of Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba States, Mr Solomon Terhemen Agure, has promised to offer free training exercise to all the executive drivers attached to government vehicles in Taraba, Gombe, and Adamawa States.

Solomon stated this during 2023 flag off ember month campaign, in Jalingo Taraba State capital, he said the free drivers training exercise will include those drivers attached to executive, legislative and the judiciary for effective convoy driving techniques.

Solomon added that in Adamawa State, the three arms of government executive drivers have already been trained.

Solomon appealed to the Taraba State government to provide office accommodation as the FRSC corp marshall have approved the establishment of two additional area commands in Zing and Beli Local Government Councils in Taraba State,

Earlier, the Sector Commander, FRSC Taraba State Command, Abdulmaliq Bello said road crashes in Taraba State between 2022/2023 review comparative to 41% reduction in death while 52% reduction in injuries.

Bello reiterated that this giant stride recorded in road cases is through extensive public enlightenment campaign, in collaboration with critical stakeholders and other sister agencies.

He stressed that the primary goal of FRSC is to ensure road clashes related deaths and injuries have reduce by 5%, while appealing to drivers to be road safety conscious,

Bello called on the general public to patronize the FRSC clinic for medical issues, according to him the clinic is not for only accident victim but to the public as part of corp marshall corporate social responsibility.

In the same vein, the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Dr. Jeji Williams, assured that it is the duty of government to ensure the safety of the citizens through construction and rehabilitation of roads.

He therefore, appealed to FRSC to proffer solution and decongest the indiscriminate parking of high capacity vehicles on highway especially in Jalingo metropolis.
