Algeria target victory over Tunisia

Algeria Captain Mehdi Lacen has insisted that his side will take the search for victory very seriously, when they play Tunisia at the Royal Bafokeng stadium on Tuesday 22 January.

Both countries will meet in the Group ‘D’ tie, and with tournament favorites, Cote d’Ivoire and Togo waiting, a victory will ensure some sort of advantage to whoever gets it.

“It’s a very important game for us, but we are well prepared, Mehdi told BBC

“We’re aiming at winning this game that is crucial for our continuation. We’re ready for physical and psychological duels, he continued, alluding to the tension that always follows matches involving these North African neighbours.

“There are only three games at the group level, so we’re ready to make any effort possible,” he said.

The tournament kicked off on Saturday 19 with two games from Group ‘A’
