FCT Police Command has debunked media reports alleging the kidnapping of 19 individuals and killing of 12 persons in Galadimawa, Abuja.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the FCT police command, Joseph Adeh.
Mr. Adeh said following a careful examination of the allegations, it was clearly established that these claims are false and misleading, showing an intention, either deliberately or not, to misguide and instil fear in the public.
He stated that the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, assures residents of Galadimawa and indeed the entire FCT that the Command has deployed tactical and robust intelligence apparatus to ensure the security of life and property.
While urging residents to remain vigilant, CP Haruna warned those spreading fake and baseless reports to desist from doing so. He stressed that this misinformation only serves to distort the prevailing peace and tranquillity enjoyed by the residents of FCT.
“The FCT Police Command remains steadfast in ensuring the safety and security of the public and urges those spreading misleading information to team with the Command to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum.
“The CP urges members of the public to promptly report distress calls and complaints through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883. Additionally, the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB)” the statement read. N
