2022 Maulud: Zulum pledges to promote eastern education in Borno

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has pledged to promote eastern education through the establishment of higher Islamic schools across the 27 Local Government Areas of state.

Governor Zulum made the pledge on Saturday during the Eid Maulud festival which mark the birth of Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him), which was held in Maiduguri, the state capital.

He said his administration would also install solar street lights, construct road networks and drainage system linking the late Sheikh Ahmad Aliyu Abulfatahi Zawiya, which is the venue of the annual Maulud Nabiyyi (SAW) for Muslim faithfuls all over the states of Nigeria.

The Eid Maulud Nabiyyi (SAW) festivity which has participants across the globe, is being organized by Abulfatahi Foundation and Zawiya Development Association in collaboration with other individuals and organizations at the Late Sheikh Ahmad Aliyu Abulfatahi residence and Central Mosque located at Old Maiduguri, Jere LGA of Borno state.

The governor’s entourage including the State Deputy Governor, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, Speaker, BOSHA, Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan,, State Executive Council members, State Assembly Members, Special Advisers and Assistants to the Govenror and Deputy Govenror as well as other top Government officials and politicians attended the Eid Maulud special prayers at Madinatu , Zawiya of Late Sheikh Ahmed Abulfatahi.

Governor Zulum while addressing the congregations urged them to continue to seek for both eastern and Western education in order to eliminate illiteracy and improve their level of literacy.

On flood disaster in some parts of the state , Governor Zulum promised to tackle the problems head knock in order to curtail future challenges before next year rainy season.

While appreciating the organizers of this year’s Maulud for their warm reception given to him and his entourage, the governor, further urged them to continue to pray for the people and government of the state for peace to return permanently in the state.

He also assured the congregations of his intention to participate in next year’s Maulud activity even better than this year as a Muslim who believes in the birthday and messages of Prophet Mohammed SAW

In his sermon, The Chief Host, Khalifa Aliyu Ahmadu Aliyu Abulfatahi commended Governor Zulum for his support and assistance to the family of late Maulana Sheikh Ahmad Aliyu Abulfatahi , Zawiya and foundation.

Khalifah assured the governor that the Abulfatahi’s family, friends, pupils, students and associates are always with him and will continue to pray and support his good intention for the people of Borno.

He further prayer for the restoration of peace, progress, stability and development in Borno and other North East states which have been battling with insurgency.
