2023: It’s turn of Cross River South to produce next governor – Sen. Ita Giwa

Former Special Special Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo on National Assembly Matters Senator Florence Ita Giwa on Sunday insisted that it’s the turn of Cross River South Senatorial District to produce the next governor in 2023.

Senator Ita Giwa stated this on Sunday while addressing the members of The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), shortly after a thanksgiving service at Christian Central Chapel International, City of Testimony Calabar,

She said: “In 1999, Cross River South produce the governor, and in 2007 after 8 years it was Cross River Central and in 2015, it was the turn of Cross River North, and so naturally, it should come back to Cross River South”

The former Senator noted that despite attempt by some people to deny Governor Ben Ayade second term, Cross River South stood firmly with the governor.

“So, we thank His Excellency for keeping faith with us by backing rotational Governorship and he has demonstrated that in his party by giving us a governorship candidate”

She added that the state had enjoyed peaceful coexistence among the three Senatorial District.

She commended the newly elected Cross River State Working Committee of the (NUJ) led by Comrade Gill Nsa for a transparent election.

Also speaking, the head of Cross River State Civil Service, who is a product of the Council Comrade Timothy Akwaji advised the newly elected officials to carry every body along.
