2023: Peter Obi storms Nasarawa, promises to end insecurity, unemployment

The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has assured Nigerians that Labour party has the capacity to change the fortune the of Nigeria if elected in 2023.

Obi, who spoke at the official flag off of his presidential campaigns on Saturday, in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, said that his mission of becoming the president of Nigeria, is to fix the problems confronting the country and it’s citizens.

The former governor of Anambra State, said Nigerians are looking forward to having a leader with productive ideas and pull the people out of poverty.

He said: “Nigeria is insecure, Nigeria is unproductive, a country being threatened and at the verge of collapse. Going by the enormity of Nigeria’s problems, our mission is to solve them. The firm duty of a leader is to be a problem solver”

“I maintain that Labour party has an array of candidates who are qualified and competent to address the issue of flood, end insecurity and provide the youth with stable and sustainable livelihood”.

The Labour party flag bearer, however, assured Nigerians that if elected, prudent management of the nation’s resources would be the main focus of his administration.

He said agriculture would be given its desired attention, unity of Nigeria would be rekindled while the perception that Nigeria is no go country among the comity of nation would be corrected.

He lamented that Nigerians were suffering because of the kind of leaders occupying government offices, adding that the prices of food stuffs and other goods in the markets will be reduced if he wins the Presidential election in 2023.

He said: “if Labour party in 2023, is voted, the party will address the persistent farmers/herders clashes in Nasarawa state and the farmers will go back to their farms. We will tackle the state of insecurity the entire nation”

“We will remove youths out of poverty. We will reduce criminality. We will solve the flood problem ravaging the country. The prices of goods will come down and there would be no challenges of food in the country.”

Obi called on the electorates to support all LP candidates in Nasarawa state and cautioned them against voting for people who will steal the nation’s treasury.

“When the LP wins, there will no more be strike in the Nigerian Universities. The government will comprise of youths and women. We will provide fertilizer to farmers across the nation,” he added.

On his part, the National chairman of Labour party, Julius Obore, appreciated the residents of Nasarawa state for identifying with the party.

He said the LP will deliver Nigeria from the state of insecurity, unemployment, poverty, hunger and starvation, lamenting that the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress had failed the citizens and the nation.

“In the 2023 elections, we must change the APC and PDP. So you all should have your Permanent Voter Cards so that you will be allowed to vote for candidates of your choice.

“Our presidential candidate is strong. We need an energetic and vibrant person because the nation has been suffering from economy hardship due to the wrong choice of candidate”, the National chairman added.

In his welcome address, the State Chairman of LP, Alexander Emmanuel, thanked the leadership of the party for choosing Nasarawa state as the venue for the presidential campaign flag off, and promised to canvas for more support for Peter Obi across the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa state.
