Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, Hon. Bello Isa Ambarura, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election, insisting that it is fully prepared for the contest.
Ambarura, who represents Gwadabawa/Illela Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, made the declaration shortly after paying a thank-you visit to the ADC state secretariat in Sokoto, where he appreciated party leaders and members for selecting him as the party’s deputy governorship candidate.
According to him, the visit was aimed at expressing gratitude for the confidence reposed in him while also seeking continued support from party faithful ahead of the election.
“My visit to our party’s Secretariat is simply to thank the state executives and party faithfuls for choosing me as deputy governorship running mate out of thousands. And I also appreciated them for their support just as I solicited for further cooperation.”
Responding to questions on why he was chosen ahead of other aspirants, Ambarura said the party’s decision was based on merit and his long record of public service.
While acknowledging that many competent individuals were qualified for the position, he maintained that the ADC leadership carefully considered his experience before making the choice.
“Of course, the party has considered merit. All of you know that I have been in the state civil service for over 35 years and I rendered diligent service. I rose from a Clerk up to the Permanent Secretary.
“I was once a Permanent Secretary of the State Pilgrim Welfare Agency and I served diligently.
“I also served as a member of the State House of Assembly, and now I am serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Gwadabawa and Illela Federal Constituency. That is the criteria. We just have like six months to the election now. We are ready.”
The federal lawmaker called on ADC members across Sokoto State to remain united and committed to the party’s campaign, expressing optimism that their efforts would yield positive results.
“We are ready to participate actively and also pray to Almighty Allah to give us success.” Hon. Ambarura said.
