2027 opposition candidates: El-rufai, Atiku, Obi and Aregbesola
By EZEKIEL OBI, Abuja-
A coalition of prominent politicians opposed to President Bola Tinubu led administration has formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The application, dated June 19, 2025, was received by INEC on June 20, with the party’s slogan being “Justice for All”.

The Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG), led by former Senate President David Mark and comprising notable figures like Rotimi Amaechi, has been working towards forming a new party to challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. After extensive internal consultations, the coalition decided to register a new party, rather than joining an existing one.
The party’s interim leadership structure includes Chief Akin A. Ricketts as Protem Chairman and Abdullahi Musa Elayo as Protem National Secretary.
The coalition submitted its application to INEC, along with the party’s logo, manifesto, constitution, flag, and minutes of meetings, in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act 2022.
The party awaits INEC’s response to its application.
The All Democratic Alliance aims to unseat President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing the need for a new political force in the country.
The coalition’s decision to register a new party comes amid growing discontent with the current administration.
