Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State on Saturday unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election in a statewide affirmation exercise conducted across all 255 political wards in the 23 local government areas of the state.
The exercise, which witnessed massive participation by party members and stakeholders, was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission alongside designated APC officials to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines and procedures.
Party supporters from the Southern Kaduna axis, as well as the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts, turned out in large numbers to reaffirm their support and confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and administration.
Speaking after monitoring the exercise in parts of the state, Uba Sani described the affirmation as a strong signal of unity, loyalty, and confidence in the leadership of both the APC and President Tinubu.
He said the overwhelming support recorded across the state reflected the trust party members and citizens had in the current administration and the determination of the APC to consolidate its achievements ahead of the next general elections.
According to the governor, the orderly conduct, discipline, and massive turnout recorded during the exercise further demonstrated the strength and readiness of the APC in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 polls.
Governor Sani also urged party members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party’s structures and grassroots mobilisation efforts to sustain the APC’s dominance at both state and national levels.
The affirmation process was peacefully concluded amid enthusiastic participation by party faithful, an indication of growing internal cohesion within the party and renewed commitment to continuity in governance.
Meanwhile, collation of results from the exercise was ongoing across the various voting areas, with designated local government collation officers compiling returns for onward transmission to the Kaduna State Coordinator and Chief Collation Officer, Governor Uba Sani.
The final consolidated result is expected to be formally presented to the APC Presidential Primary Committee in Abuja ahead of the official announcement scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026.
