
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia
General Manager, Benue Links, the Benue State transport company, Mr. Alexander Fananfa has declared that there was no alternative to Governor Hyacinth Alia in the 2027 gubernatorial elections in the state.
Addressing a group of Journalists in his office in Makurdi, Mr. Fananfa noted with emphasis that the Benue State Governor has performed creditably and has achieved a lot for the people of the state, insisting that he deserves to be reelected to continue with his good work.
He explained that Governor Alia in the last three years has made tremendous improvement on the lives of the Benue people and the people have tested and known how capable the governor has been in the execution of projects that have direct impact on their lives.
The GM revealed that Governor Alia provided 100 buses to the company to ease transportation problems, constructed several roads in all parts of the state among other things for the benefit of the people of the state.
Mr. Fananfa said when he took over as the GM three years ago, there were about twenty vehicles left in the company but after the provision of the 100 buses by the Governor, the company also procured about thirty additional vehicles and has also provided employment to about 130 drivers.
While revealing that there was no casual staff in the company as directed by the Governor, the GM informed that all employees were on permanent basis as no one collects less than N75000 which is the minimum wage of the state.
According to the GM, the company has continued to aggressively train its drivers to equip them for optimal performance, explaining that in addition to the initial training before commencement of work the company also organises weekly training for drivers for better and improved services.
He emphasized that the company under his watch has not only provided additional permanent parks, opened additional routes in about 33 states, it has also tackled adequately the perennial water issue at the headquarters which used to suffer over flooding each raining season and has commenced online booking of their vehicles at the convenience of the passengers.
