Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has expressed strong faith in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in 2027, urging the people of Kogi to demonstrate their appreciation for the President’s goodwill toward the state.
Speaking on Friday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders’ Engagement held in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Governor Ododo commended President Tinubu for what he described as an unprecedented show of love and inclusion for the people of Kogi.
> “In terms of appointment, President Bola Tinubu has shown us that he loves us so much. We must reciprocate this love come 2027 by voting him massively for a second term,” he said.
The governor lauded the recognition and federal appointments given to Kogi youths, describing them as a gesture beyond expectations that deserved collective appreciation.
Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s full alignment with Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, expressing confidence that the President’s policies would continue to bring progress to Nigerians.
> “The President has shown us love, and we love him back. He’s also doing well on security matters. My administration is also fighting criminal elements with all sincerity,” he added.
Emphasizing the importance of community intelligence in fighting insecurity, Ododo warned that anyone found aiding criminal activities, particularly those supplying fuel to bandits, would face severe consequences.
> “Anybody caught aiding bandits or terrorists in any way, especially with fuel, will have his or her filling station or house demolished,” he warned.
On development projects, the governor assured residents that the Kabba Water Project, GYB Science School in Oke-Bukun, and several Primary Health Care centres under construction in the area would be completed and commissioned before the end of the year.
He urged the people of Kabba/Bunu LGA to continue supporting his government’s development drive, promising more people-centered initiatives to uplift communities across the state.
Earlier, Governor Ododo met with traditional rulers in the area, led by the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, who pledged their continued support for the administration and their commitment to sustaining peace and security in their domains.
