FRSC official at the scene of an accident
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State has confirmed that three passengers narrowly escaped death in a lone accident that occurred along the Gbongan–Ibadan highway on Monday afternoon.
The Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Osogbo, noting that the crash was caused by excessive speeding.
According to Adegboyega, the incident involved a Toyota Corolla with registration number KRD 885JQ, which lost control around the Salam-Salam area of the highway at about 4:06 p.m.
> “Three persons were involved in the accident but no one lost their lives and all were rescued safely,” he stated.
The sector commander added that one of the passengers sustained serious injuries and had been taken to Adeoye Medical Centre, Gbongan, for treatment.
He said efforts were ongoing to tow the damaged vehicle from the scene to the command’s office.
> “The only person that was severely injured was taken to Adeoye Medical Centre in Gbongan, and efforts are in progress to tow the vehicle to the command,” Adegboyega explained.
The FRSC boss cautioned motorists against speeding and reckless driving, stressing that most road crashes could be avoided through patience and adherence to traffic regulations.
> “We advise motorists to drive with care and avoid excessive speeding that could lead to loss of lives and property,” he warned.
