
Oloba of Oba, His Royal Highness, Ọba (Dr.) Timothy Titilayo Oyebanji, Olufemiloye I

The 30th Coronation Anniversary of the revered Oloba of Oba, His Royal Highness, Ọba (Dr.) Timothy Titilayo Oyebanji, Olufemiloye I, was marked by heartfelt tributes and congratulatory messages from various stakeholders, celebrating three decades of his impactful reign.
In a message signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Oba Development Association (ODA), Pastor Isaac Awoniyi, the community expressed their profound gratitude to God and the Monarch for his leadership acumen.
“We heartily congratulate our esteemed Royal Father on this glorious occasion. Your reign has been a shining example of wisdom, peace, and progress. Under your distinguished leadership, our community has witnessed remarkable transformation in education, infrastructure, culture, and unity.”
Awoniyi further emphasized the values upheld by the monarch, stating, “We are immensely proud of your legacy, which has made Ọba Kingdom a model of tradition blended with modern development. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we pray that the Almighty God will continue to grant you long life, sound health, divine wisdom, and greater grace to reign even more gloriously.”
In a personal message made available to NATIONAL PERICOPE, the ODA President, Pastor Sunday Oladiji, appreciated God for blessing the kingdom with a man after His own heart.
“Congratulations to our Royal Majesty on this landmark 30th anniversary. We give thanks to God for the gift of you on the throne of Oba. Your leadership has provided opportunities for the youth of Oba to be relevant. May you live long on the throne with much more favor and good health.”
Similarly, the member representing Isin Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulRasaq Omotosho, extended his warmest congratulations, stating, “Thirty years of visionary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of your people is truly a remarkable milestone.
“I’m honored to join the good people of Oba-Isin in celebrating this auspicious occasion. Your humility, piety, and dedication to the well-being of your subjects have earned you immense respect and admiration. May Almighty God continue to grant you good health, wisdom, and strength to lead your people to greater heights.
“Once again, congratulations on this illustrious milestone. I’m privileged to wish you a joyous celebration and many more years of glorious reign.
Also, a former Kwara South senatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Ambassador Olutola Onijala, expressed his admiration for the monarch’s legacy.
According to Onijala; “This grand commemoration is not merely a passage of time; it is a profound testament to a reign rooted in heritage and elevated by foresight. Your throne has remained a beacon of peace and a symbol of unity. Your reign has transcended the geographical contours of Oba, becoming a regional symbol of purposeful leadership.”
The Ambassador added that in the three decades of Oba Oyebanji over the ancient throne of Oba, he has not only upheld the sacred tenets of his ancestors but have also infused the institution of monarchy with a rare blend of modern insight and timeless dignity.
“Oba, under your watchful eyes and guiding hands, has grown not just in stature, but in spirit. Your throne has remained a beacon of peace, a symbol of unity, and an altar of cultural renaissance. Indeed, the palace under your leadership has become a crucible where tradition dialogues with progress, and where the wisdom of the past informs the aspirations of the future,” Onijala said.
Ambassador Olutola John Onijala, an in-law to Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, is a career ambassador who hails from Oro Ago in the Ifelodun Local Government area of Kwara State.
Meanwhile, another son of the soil and a Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of Nigeria, Hon. James Ogundele, in his congratulatory message highlighted the monarch’s contributions to the community.
“Throughout three decades, Kabiesi has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of his people. His legacy serves as a shining example of effective leadership, inspiring his subjects to strive for greatness,” Ogundele said.
The Oba Students’ Union, represented by its President, Sodiq Ogunniyi, also joined in the celebration, stating, “Your Majesty, your reign has been a beacon of inspiration to us as students and youth. We are proud to be part of a generation witnessing your impactful legacy. As we mark this great milestone, we pray for more fruitful years in good health, strength, and divine wisdom.”
Oba (Dr.) Oyebanji was enthroned on April 15, 1995, after over a century of the ancient land of Oba without a king.
As the community reflects on the past three decades, it is clear that the reign of Ọba (Dr.) Oyebanji has not only transformed the kingdom but has also left an indelible mark on the hearts of his subjects. The celebrations continue, with hopes for many more years of peace, prosperity, and exemplary leadership under the Oloba of Oba.
