4 killed in ghastly accident on their way to APC campaign rally in Borno

The former Borno State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Musa Inuwa Kubo, has lost two of his sons, Adamu and Audi Kubo in a ghastly accident along Kwaya-Kusar- Peta- Shani road.

Two others victims also died in the fatal crash which occured on Wednesday evening, when their car lost control and rammed into a deep pot hole before somersaulting.

It was gathered that four of the victims died instantly on the spot of the incident, while one of them is still responding to treatment after sustaining serious injuries.

The deceased were said to have been conveyed on Thursday to Shani town, which is the home town of the father, for burial according to Islamic rites. The funeral prayers were led by the Chief Iman of Shani.

It was also gathered that the victims were heading to Shani LGA from Maiduguri in preparation for the campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC), slated to be launched by the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur on Thursday for Southern Borno Senatorial District with the Deputy Governor as the state chairman of the 2023 governorship campaign rally of Governor Babagana Zulum.

Following the sad turn of events, the leader of the campaign team, Hon. Kadafur, had to cancel the campaign rally to attend to the funeral prayers of the victims and to sympathize with the family and people of Shani Emirate.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Senator Ali Ndume, Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan and other top government, party officials.
