Prisoners in jail
Forty-seven awaiting trial inmates in different Nigerian Correctional centers across Nasarawa State have regained their freedom.
This followed a special visit by the State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir Aliyu to the Nigerian Correctional Centers as a result of the directive by the presidency for decongestion of custodial centers across the nation.
The Chief Judge said most of the affected inmates committed minor offences and they were released to prevent outbreak of COVID-19.
She urged the released inmates to be of good behavior and be productive.
