“We are moving beyond mere representation,” Suleiman stated.
“Our focus is now on structured influence, coordination, and ensuring that the humanitarian reset in Borno prioritizes local actors who understand the cultural and linguistic nuances of our communities.”
He further outlined the new administration’s strategic priorities, which include:
The Localization Movement: Advocating for local NGOs to secure a fair share of humanitarian funding and take the lead in on-the-ground interventions.
Strategic Engagement: Establishing regular dialogue forums with government actors and international development partners.
Innovation: Implementing a centralized data hub and leveraging digital tools to amplify the voices of displaced and marginalized populations.
Suleiman emphasized that the new leadership would focus on strengthening collaboration, accountability, and inclusive community engagement across Borno State.
