Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani
National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) has commended Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for the progress recorded under his administration’s peace and security framework, describing it as a model worthy of study and replication.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House by participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, Syndicate 4, who are in Kaduna for a study tour.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Team Lead, Uduak Uduak Ituen, said the visit was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical realities in security management.
She noted that insights gained from Kaduna’s approach would enrich their research papers and contribute to actionable recommendations for strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture.
Ituen further highlighted that the successes recorded under the Kaduna Peace Model earned Governor Uba Sani the 2026 Governor of the Year Award conferred by the National Leadership Summit Group in March.
According to her, the recognition reflects the governor’s commitment to security, inclusive governance, and people-centred development in the state.
Responding, Governor Uba Sani said Kaduna’s experience has reinforced the principle that sustainable security goes beyond enforcement to include intelligence gathering, trust-building, and inclusive governance.
He explained that the state has adopted a coordinated approach that integrates intelligence-led operations, inter-agency collaboration, and sustained community engagement, resulting in improved peace and renewed public confidence.
The governor added that his administration views security and development as interconnected, noting that lack of economic opportunities often fuels instability.
He said the government has therefore combined security interventions with investments in infrastructure, education, and social welfare to address both immediate threats and root causes of insecurity.
Uba Sani described the study tour as timely, saying it provides an opportunity for knowledge exchange, policy reflection, and collaboration towards building a more resilient national security framework.
He urged members of the syndicate to engage critically, ask relevant questions, and explore partnerships that would enhance collective efforts to safeguard the country.
