
Deputy Chief Whip, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Sampson Idiong welcomes Jim Iyke during a visit to Akwa Ibom State
Tourism development took the centre stage during the weekend when renowned Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke visited key stakeholders in in Akwa Ibom State for fruitfull discussions.
Already known for its peaceful ambience, good network of roads, excellent environmental sanitation, having won the cleanest state award consecutively for more than 6 years, Akwa Ibom is fast becoming a regional hub in the aviation sector and a preferred tourism destination.
Sampson Idiong, a key stakeholder in the sector and a state lawmaker who disclosed Iyke’s visit on his verified social media handle, said the discussions centred around tourism and investment which he said were fruitfull.
According to the lawmaker, “it was a pleasure to welcome my dear friend, renowned Nollywood actor and producer, Jim Iyke, to my residence in Uyo.
“We had a fruitful conversation on the vast tourism and investment opportunities in Akwa Ibom State, as well as the remarkable strides being made under the visionary leadership of Governor Umo Eno.
“I sincerely appreciate the movie star for the visit and his kind words about our beautiful state.
“Akwa Ibom remains a peaceful, welcoming destination for tourism, investment, and sustainable growth, ” he said.
A multi billion tourism facility known as Arise Palm Resort located in Uyo, the state capital, expected to redefine tourism in Akwa Ibom is scheduled for inauguration in September.
