
A 25-year-old shopkeeper, Simia Abodunrin, on Tuesday appeared in a Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, for allegedly stealing stealing jewellery worth N276,000, belonging to his employer.
The police charged Abodunrin with breaking, entry and theft.
The prosecution counsel, Insp Emmanuel Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 4, 2020 at Lagos Street, Ebute-Meta, Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant broke into the apartment of her employer, Mrs Florence Omotosho and also stole N489,400 cash.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287(7) and 309 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate A.O. Odusanya admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties.
Odusanya ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government(LASG)
She adjourned the case untill Jan. 26. (NAN)
