
AIG Zone 15 Command, Mr Abdu Umar

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Abdu Umar, on Monday assumed office as the AIG in Charge of Zone 15 Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
He assumed leadership of the Zone 15 immediately after handing over the office of Borno State Police Command to his successor, CP Yusuf Lawan Mohammed.
AIG Abdu assured the commitment of the Nigerian Police in combating crimes and addressing the security challenges confronting the nation in line with the vision and mission of the new Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“I would foster the existing collaboration and synergy among the security agencies in the state. I am posted to this command for the 7th time I was here as Area commander, DCP investigations, DCP Admin and Supply, DCP Operations, CP and now an AIG.
“It is my pleasure and with gratitude to God for sparing my life to witness the occasion assuming of duty as AIG zone 15, I am not new in Borno and I am here to oversee the activities of Borno and Yobe State Command and report to the IGP through the DIG, Operations”, AIG Umar said.
He further said,” the police is always trained and committed to safeguard fundamental rights not only human rights but also animals, plants as well as the environment”
The AIG noted that his job is to oversee , supervise, guide and advise the operations of State Commissioners of Police under his Zone.
“As such, I will be engaging in shuttling between Yobe State, Damaturu and Borno State, Maiduguri which are my areas of operations and supervision”, he said.
