Mr Albert Agulanna, has emerged the PDP candidate for Abor Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency of Imo.

The state Publicity Secretary, Mr Collins Opurozor, said in a statement on Friday, that Agulanna emerged from a fresh primary election conducted by the party on the order of the Court of Appeal, Owerri.

“Recall that the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division, presided over by Honorable Justice Nosakhare Pemu, recently voided the primary election of the party for the constituency, earlier won by Agulanna based on issues of venue.

“The court had also ordered our party to conduct a fresh primary election within 14 days.

“In compliance with the court order, our party, today, Jan. 27, held a fresh primary election in which Agulanna polled 50 votes,” Opurozor said.

According to the statement, Agulanna defeated Dr Ugochukwu Uzoma, who polled two votes.

While congratulating him on his victory, the party also commended its stakeholders in the area “for their patience and resilience that navigated the party through the setback.

“Imo PDP describes the victory of Agulanna as refreshing, and notes that it is a reaffirmation of the faith and confidence the people of the constituency have in him,” he added.

He appealed to PDP members and supporters to remain firm in their decision to vote all the party candidates in the Feb. 25 election.
