By BARBARA KALU, Port-Harcourt –
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has attributed the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) challenges to infighting among its management team members.
Akpabio spokes on Friday at the agency’s 25th-anniversary celebration in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He revealed that disunity among board members hindered the commission’s progress.
He also disclosed that over 17,500 NDDC projects were abandoned due to changes in leadership, further exacerbating the agency’s problems.
Akpabio’s comments highlight the need for unity and stability in leadership to drive the commission’s mission to develop the Niger Delta region.
