Kwara residents on Tuesday abandoned their businesses to welcome the APC presidential candidates, Sen. Bola Tinubu and Alhaji Kashim Shetima at the llorin international Airport.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that thousands of residents of Kwara were happy and deliberately abandoned their businesses to assemble at the Airport gate to welcome the APC flagbearers.

NAN also reports that politicians, market women, civil servants, students, teachers, motorcyclists and artisans were present at the airport gate to welcome them.

The market women danced and sang different kinds of songs to hail the APC presidential candidates.

The APC Chairman in Kwara, Mr Sunday Fagbemi, said the mammoth crowd was a testimony of affection and support for Tinubu/Shetima presidency.

He said the team would move from airport to the Emir of llorin’s Palace to pay homage and seek royal blessings from the Emir of llorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, before forging ahead to Metropolitan Square to address the party supporters from the 16 local government areas of the state and 293 wards.

The women leader, Ajewole Community, Alhaja Kaolat Adebisi, said that they abandoned their businesses today because of the love they have for Tinubu and Shettima.

“We believe that both Tinubu and Shetima have capacity to run the affairs of the country, if given the mandate,” she said. (NAN)
