Gunmen suspected to be bandis have reportedly invaded the low cost area in Kaura Namoda, killing two staff of the Federal Polytechnic Zamfara State.
It was learnt that the victim identified as Usama Nazifi, 37 years old and Bashiru Muhammad, 39 years old, have been buried in accordance with Islamic rite.
An eyewitness who spoke to Radio Nigeria during the funeral prayer in Kaura Namoda said, the bandits jumped into the Nazifi’s House asking him to open his room, but he resorted to shouting calling for assistance.
He said the assailants withdrew, and Nazifi called his neighbour Bashiru and they went out of their houses discussing the issue not knowing that the bandits were still in the area hidden in an uncompleted building, and they subsequently opened fire on them.
Reacting, The Rector Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, Yahaya Muhammad Bande described the attack as unfortunate, barbaric and condemnable.
