The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has announced that the institution would commence its academic activities on Monday, 7th November, 2022.
The Head, Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Kabiru Aminu, in a statement obtained by our Correspondent, said that the resumption date was approved by the Senate of the institution after its “special meeting” held on Tuesday.
According to him, the institution’s academic calendar, as released by the Senate, indicates that activities for the first semester 2021/2022 session will continue on 7th November.
He added that the first semester examination will commence on 15th December, 2022.
“The Senate of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi at a Special Meeting held on Tuesday, 25th October, 2022 has approved Monday, 7th November, 2022 as the date for resumption of academic activities in the university.
“According to the academic calendar issued by the Senate, lectures for the First Semester 2021/2022 Academic Session will continue on Monday, 7th November, 2022.
“The approved revised Calendar further indicated that the examination for the First Semester will start on Thursday, 15th December, 2022. Additionally, students who have not completed their online registration are given up to Monday, 31st October, 2022 to do so.
“Students are to also note that failure to complete the registration within the stipulated time will leave the University with no option than to advise them to defer the semester,” Aminu stated.
NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the resumption followed the suspension of the over seven months old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which paralyzed academic activities across the Nigerian universities.
