Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged leaders and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation as preparations gather pace for the 2027 general elections.
Atiku made the call in a post on his official X account on Saturday after meeting with the party’s candidates for elective offices in Adamawa State, including the governorship candidate, Hamman Tukur Ribadu.
Reflecting on the meeting, the former presidential candidate said: “Earlier today, I met with my fellow 2027 Adamawa State African Democratic Congress candidates across all elective positions, including our governorship candidate, Hamman Tukur Ribadu.”
He said he used the opportunity to encourage the party leadership to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen internal unity ahead of the elections.
According to Atiku, “I urged the party leaders, led by the Deputy National Chairman North East, Mr Daniel Bwala, and State Chairman Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, to reconcile and unite all party members, and to begin engaging with our people through mass mobilisation and voter sensitisation efforts ahead of the upcoming general elections.”
The former vice president expressed satisfaction with what he described as growing unity within the party in Adamawa, saying the development would strengthen the ADC’s preparations for the next electoral cycle.
He added: “I am pleased to see the party uniting to form a common front. I have encouraged them to maintain these efforts.”
The meeting comes as political parties continue consultations, internal reorganisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
