Mother Cat Contractors, handling the dualization of 7.5 kilometers of Misau township road, has assured the delivery of the roads project by December 2025.
Site engineer, Nicholas David stated this when he spoke to journalists led by Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, during a projects assessment tour on Saturday.
Engr. David said the project is 50 to 60% completed and “at this pace, the project will be delivered on scheduled time.”
He further said, “quality work is being done as per terms of contract agreement and specifications.”
“As you can see, we are doing the best work and it is progressing steadily, we have done more than half, work is ongoing on the other half.”
On contract variations, the Engineer noted that it was necessitated by the fluctuations of prices of materials, adding that “for now prices are stabilized, and no need for further variations.”
Bauchi State Government’s Resident Engineer on the project, Engr. Mohammed Babagana, praised the contractors for doing a good job so far.
He also agreed that the hike in prices of construction materials compelled the variation of the contract sum to over N6b, saying quality work will be delivered.
Though it is a federal road, Engr. Babagana informed that the State Government embarked on its construction for the good of the people of Misau to reduce accident rates and ease traffic flows.
State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, shedding more light, added that various projects embarked upon by Gov. Bala Mohammed are people-oriented.
“The essence of the Media Tour is to create public awareness on the achievements of the government to let people be aware of the ongoing efforts to develop the State and make it better than what it was in 2019.”
