Network of Civil Society Organisations, Borno State (NECSOB) has presented an award of excellent service to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) in charge of Zone 15, AIG Abdu Umar.
The Borno State Chairman, NECSOB, Comrade .Ambassador Bulama Abiso alongside some EXCO members and a BoT member of the Network presented the award on behalf of the entire CSOs in Borno State.
This is contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Isa Ali, NECSOB North East Secretariat and made available to journalists in Maiduguri on Wednesday.
According to the statement, AIG Abdu Umar who is also the immediate pass Commissioner of Police, Borno State was given the award in recognition of his selfless service and contributions to stability, security, peace and development being enjoyed in the State,.
It added that his elevation from the CP to AIG was also in recognition of is hard work as Commissioner of Police having worked in synergy and closely with the Civil Society Organisations in the state as critical stakeholders and sources of vital information as well.as voice of the people and societal development.
Comrade Abiso urged the AIG to continue to render his services effectively and positively to the State by ensuring that peace and stability prevail continuously in the state and his operational zone.
He further described AIG Abdu as a role model to all officers of the command worthy of emulation especially his unique leadership style.
One of the NECSOB BoT member, Honourable Hussaini Bulama, who is a former DPO also passed some encomiums on the AIG when he was the Borno State Police Commissioner.
In his remark, AIG Abdu Umar appreciated the award and called for continuous cordial working relationship and positive collaboration with the Nigeria Police.
He added that this is the 7th time he has been posted to Borno State to serve the police force and he always found Borno State to be his home and ever ready to discharge his duties positively and effectively.
