Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, are set to headline the 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum, scheduled to take place in Abuja.
The two prominent economic leaders will feature in a high-level fireside dialogue during the two-day forum, where policymakers, economists, investors and business executives from across Africa and beyond will deliberate on strategies for strengthening the continent’s economies amid growing global uncertainties.
The 2026 edition of the forum is themed, “Building Resilience Amidst Geoeconomic Uncertainties,” reflecting the need for African nations to develop practical and sustainable responses to shifting global economic realities.
Organisers said discussions will focus on policy options, investment opportunities and collaborative approaches aimed at enhancing Africa’s economic resilience, promoting sustainable growth and positioning emerging markets to withstand external shocks.
The 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum will hold from July 29 to 30, 2026, at the Central Bank of Nigeria Headquarters in Abuja.
The event is expected to bring together leading voices from government, the private sector and international institutions to chart pathways for long-term economic development across the continent.
