COAS, CAS celebrate Christmas with troops of Operation Hadin Kai

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Umar Farouq Yahaya and Chief Air Staff (CAS) , Air marshal Isiaka Amao have celebrated the 2022 Christmas with troops of Operation Hadin Kai JTF at the theater command Headquarters Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri .

They appreciated the troops and the commanders for their bravery in the counter insurgency fight having recorded lots achievements through intelligence and complementary efforts of the Joint Task Force of the Nigerian army, Air Force and other security agencies under the Operation Hadin Kai JTF North East.

According to the COAS and CAS, there have been lots of improvement in the security situation in the north east region due to the ongoing renewed efforts and strategies adopted in the operations.

They further urged the officers and troops to continue to put in their best towards ensuring restoration of peace in the North East by ensuring completely eradication of all the notorious elements who have refused to surrendered.

The duo expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to the gallantry of the troops and assured their continuous support for the troops’ welfare packages and improvement on provision operational tools and equipments to to the troops to end the war.

They declared serious war on the insurgents in their hide outs in Sambisa Forest , stressing that the joint task force will continue to launch missiles from the air in order for the ground troops to clear them from their hide outs to give peace a chance as the Nigerian military will not relent in its efforts to professionally achieve its mandate.

The colourful celebration also witnessed parades of 16 officers and soldiers from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force, who were presented with awards by the COAS, Theater Commander and GOC.

The Deputy Governor of Borno State, Hon. Umar Kadafur and distinguished combatant journalists from various media organizations based in Maiduguri, Borno state were also presented awards for their efforts and sacrifices.

However, Military sources have revealed that three kingpins of the Boko Haram terrorists, namely, Khaids Abbah Tukur, Maimusari, and Bakura Jega, were killed by the joint military Patrol team on operations launched heavy airstrikes and clearance operations by the ground troops in Bama axis last week Tuesday.

It was gathered that the three wanted Boko Haram insurgents were neutralized at Mantari in Gezuwa area of Bama local government area of Borno State, along with some insurgents numbering about 75 terrorists.

Military intelligence sources said the operation which resulted in the killing of Jega, Maimusari and Tukur, along with other Boko Haram terrorists was carried out based on early intelligence of the assembly of the terrorists last week Tuesday.
