COAS pledges to promote merit, prompt payment of troops’ entitlements

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has disclosed to troops in the front line of operations that his administration will continue to promote merit, applaud gallantry and ensure prompt payment of all entitlements.

He made the statement today 20 July 21 while marking Eid-el-Kabir celebration with troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The Chief of Army Staff, who was represented by the Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Brig Gen Adamu Nura while delivering COAS Goodwill Message stated that the Eid-el-Kabir festival brings a special reminder for us as it highlights the virtues of loyalty, obedience, and sacrifice which are also the hallmark of professional soldering.

He also added that the festival provides a unique opportunity for troops to reflect and redouble their efforts towards fulfilling constitutional roles of defeating adversaries and defending the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

He reiterated COAS special recognition and appreciation of the immense sacrifices of troops of Operation HADIN KAI and those who have paid the supreme price in the defence of our fatherland.

The colourful celebration was graced by various security agencies in State, Traditional Rulers, Non-Governmental Organizations, and the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Yobe State among other dignitaries.
