Coronavirus cases hit 51 in Nigeria as Rivers records first case

EHIME ALEX, Lagos 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control late Wednesday said Nigeria now has 51 cases of coronavirus, even as one case has been discovered in Rivers State.

According to the NCDC on its official Twitter page, five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria.

NCDC tweeted, “Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 2 in Lagos & 1 in Rivers

“3 are returning travellers into Nigeria & 2 are close contacts of a confirmed case.”

As at 11:25 pm 25th March, there are 51 confirmed cases, two discharged and one death cases in the country.

For a breakdown of cases by states in real time, NCDC said:

Oyo- 1
Edo- 1
Bauchi-1

Rivers-1
