Court sentences man to death by hanging for killing Akwa-Ibom job seeker

An Akwa Ibom State High Court has sentenced Uduak Akpan to death by hanging for the murder of Iniubong Umoren, a prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

Justice Bassey Nkanang of the state High Court have the verdict on Thursday.

Umoren, a graduate of Philosophy, University of Uyo, was killed on April 2021. She was killed while job hunting and awaiting mobilisation for the compulsory NYSC scheme.
