COVID-19: Nigeria records two new deaths as confirmed cases rise to 210

EHIME ALEX, Lagos 

Nigeria has recorded two new deaths from the coronavirus infection, bringing total deaths to four in the country.

According to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its official Twitter page on Friday, the two new deaths were recorded from Lagos and Edo states.

Also, NCDC reported that 20 new cases were recorded and that Nigeria now has 210 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

“Twenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 11 in Lagos, 3 in the FCT, 3 in Edo, 2 in Osun & 1 in Ondo

“Two new deaths have been recorded in Lagos and Edo State

“As at 10:30 pm 3rd April there are 210 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” NCDC tweeted.

Highlighting its earlier response at a press briefing on Friday with relevant stakeholders on update of the coronavirus, NCDC in another tweet said, “We are working with stakeholders in the private & public sectors to expand testing capacity for #COVID19 in #Nigeria.

“We have reviewed our case definition to reflect evolving changes in our local context.

“About 4,000 #COVID19 tests have been conducted in-country.”
