By UKA DANIEL, Abakaliki –
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has returned peace to Effium and Ezza Effium Communities; the effort which is to ensure a crisis-free state.
The governor equally flagged off the demarcation of the boundary between Effium and Ezza Effium People now called Anioma, ensuring that no form of upheavals and communal misunderstanding surface again between the two communities.
Tumult of jubilation rocked the air when the governor brought the long-awaited good news during the flag-off of the demarcation which took place at Effium Central School in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State.
In order to further stem peaceful and conducive environments and to end grudges among the two people, he further created five autonomous communities, that is; Effium, Ekeeigwe and Ijem autonomous Communities which belong to Effium people while Alioma and Ezekuna Alioma Autonomous Communities belong to Ezza people.
The peace-making governor sounded warning to those behind the crisis to refrain from that, or the Government would invoke the full wrath of the law on such persons or individuals. He further stated that the state government is now on the look-out for anyone who may choose to ember or instigate crisis not only in Effium but in the state in general.
“I want to warn seriously those who are fuelling the crisis behind the scene to desist from much as we, the Government shall never watch people killing themselves in the State and we the Government wouldn’t waste anytime in Invoking the full weight of law on such persons or individuals”. Nwifuru added.
Earlier, the Governor had assented to the bill of peace accord between Effium and Alioma, formally known as Ezza Effium people, as passed by Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
It would be recalled that Effium and Ezza Effium people had been in communal clash for the past four years.
