Ebonyi PDP inaugurates elders council, says ‘we are ready for victory’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ebonyi chapter, has inaugurated its Elders Council ahead of the party’s local government rallies for 2023 general polls.

Inaugurating the council on Tuesday in Abakaliki, Dr IfeanyiChukwuma Odii, PDP Governorship candidate in the state, said the party is ready for victory.

Odii, represented by his running mate, Sen. Igwe Nwagu, called on the elders to see their nominations as a call to active service.

He assured the elders that the leaders of the PDP shall ensure the safety and protection of all members and supporters of the party in the state.

Odii reiterated the party’s determination to win the Gubernatorial seat, urging supporters to remain steadfast toward the general elections.

The Director General of Ebonyi PDP Campaign Council, Mr Augustine Edeze, said “there is no doubt that the PDP in the state is poised for victory.”

Edeze assured that he is ready and committed to work for the party until victory is achieved.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Elders Council and former Acting National Secretary of PDP, Mr Solomon Onwe, assured the party of his commitment.

He said he is encouraged by the caliber of members of the council and therefore “assured that the confidence reposed in them will not be regretted by the party”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Members of the council were drawn from 13 local government areas of the state and Abakaliki Urban.

The members of the Elders Council include, Mr Nwiboko Keneth Oyemaechi, Mr Emmanuel Nwandegu, Mr Agu Okpani, Mr Hilary Egwu, Mr Anthony Nwankwegu and Mr Godwin Nwode.

Others were Felix Mgbada, Mr Samuel Mgbada, Mr Kevin Nwankwo, Mr Oliver Eze, Mr Davidson Nwali, Princewill Oke, Monday Okoro, Evang Okereke Chrismonk, Paul Ogbonna, Boniface Ofoke and Moses Nwobegu.

Prof. Sunday Agwu, Dr Obasi Ekwe, Chijioke Igwe Uwa, John Igboke and Emmanuel Ugbala, are also members of the Council. (NAN)
