Enugu-Onitsha Road: People’s reactions, By DONS EZE, PhD

Yesterday we wrote on the dilapidated 100 kilometers Enugu-Onitsha Road, which Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said the Federal Executive Council last week approved the sum of N8.6 billion for the completion of 22 kilometers part of the road. Below are reactions from some readers on our pages.

Dear Dr Dons, God bless you for this bit on the Enugu-Onitsha Express. You said it all. But I thought that the state government should have helped out on that road as other state govenors are doing. Besides, our representatives are culpable too and so indescribably insensitive and inhuman. Not yet late if the federal government can do the needful as quickly as possible. We should all continue to openly cry out until that essential express is reconstructed and rehabilitated accordingly. Thanks – Rev. Fr. Evans Offor

Wonderful and beautiful write up!! Good morning sir. God bless you – Rev. Fr. Charles Igbokwe

Stories upon stories about Enugu Onitsha express road. They continue to cheat themselves and pretend no one is watching. Those contract award are documented. Who can trace all the contract awards and let the public know? Good write up. Souls are wasted every day on the road.Thank you for caring. It is most painful that our so-called leaders are busy serving themselves and their family instead of serving people whom they are supposed to serve. When leaders are driven with hidden agenda. Ukwu Daniel Nkem

Remain blessed Dr. Dons Eze. I pray FG will do the needful. – Ikenna Aniako

The question of the award of that contract has got to be properly investigated. These are people who want to be governor here and they have such allegation hanging on their necks.
The Enugu end of the road is something Governor Ugwuanyi would have looked into despite the paucity of funds at his disposal but for the presidential warning that state governments should stay away from federal roads. – Rueben Onyishi

Nigeria government is the more you look the less you see. When the right people emerge we shall know and they will make a difference. Thanks for this beautiful piece. Well done. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ – Rev. Fr. Jacob Ugwoke

May God continue to keep you body and soul so we can continue to enjoy your well articulated information – Igwe Elect Onyeka Ofodile

I thought the road has been fixed. This is too bad for an important road like Enugu to Onitsha to be abandoned. – John Aduku

Excellent write-ups, but it’s very unfortunate that, we have criminal minded people as leaders.

Indeed the Enugu-onitsha express ay is a death trap to all the vehicles plying that road. Mazi Ayke Anikwe

Your kinsmen who serve as contractors are the real problem of that region. If EFCC should go after them you will shout witch hunting. Akpan Emmanuel

I say big shame to Ndigbo, the governors, especially Enugu and anambra States, their politicians and collaborated contractors these past years. Chidiebere Uwaelelam

Yes, that is one Nigeria you people are clamoring for. It’s only BIAFRA that will save you. John Chibuike Ugwuanyi
