GOC 7 Division hosts newly elected Borno NUJ Correspondents Chapel excos

The General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Waidi Shaibu has hosted he newly elected Executive Council Members (EXCO) of the Correspondence Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Borno State Chapter.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr Inusa Salihu Ndahi, disclosed that the visit was informed by the need to introduce the elected EXCO to the GOC and seek continuous understanding and cooperation with the Division.

The chapel executives also pledged determination and readiness of their members to continue to support the military by intensifying th psychological effort of media reportage which is geared towards winning the hearts and minds of the general public.

While delivering his remark, Gen Shaibu described the media as a critical stakeholder in promoting peace and unity.

He also urged the Chapel new exco to portray military operations in a positive light and educate the public on the best social behaviour during conflicts.

While congratulating the exco members, Major General Shaibu further charged them to encourage the public to share relevant intelligence information with security agencies in order to aid the ongoing operations.

Present during the visit were the Chief of Staff Headquarters 7 Division Brigadier General SY Yakasai, Formation and Unit Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, the exco members and other senior officers of the Division.
