
Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has sacked two of his aides, according to a statement on Monday by Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah.
Uwah said the decision was taken as part of the “ongoing restructuring exercise of the administration to align with the machinery of government towards the success of the Renewed Hope and Arise Agenda, adding that Governor Eno “has approved their disengagement from office.”
According to the statement, they are Mr Joseph Jacob Ikpak, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and Mr Felix Ekuri, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Neighbour watch ).
Though the reason for their disengagement was given as part of the “ongoing restructuring”. It was gathered that the affected formers aides were said to have attended the just concluded national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which was held in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital over the weekend.
The two officials were first appointed by the former Governor Udom Emmanuel and had been alleged to be loyal to the former governor.
Efforts to get their reactions were unsuccessful as their phones were switched off.
