Chairman of the Northern Christian Association (NCA) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rev. John Joseph Hayab, has described the licensing of Omega University, Kaduna, as a significant development that will contribute to educational and human capital development in Northern Nigeria.
Hayab spoke at a special thanksgiving service organised by the promoters of Restoration Bible Church to celebrate the successful licensing of the university by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The service, held at the headquarters of Restoration Bible Church in Kaduna, brought together the church’s Promoters and General Overseers, Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Tunde Bolanta, academicians, clergy, government officials, friends, well-wishers and members of the church family.
The NCA chairman described Omega University as a beacon of hope for the region, saying the institution should go beyond producing graduates by equipping students with integrity, strong moral values, discipline and godly character.
He congratulated Rev. and Mrs. Bolanta and the entire university community on the achievement, noting that the establishment of the institution represented a vision that had moved beyond the pulpit to make a meaningful contribution to education, human capital development and nation-building.
Hayab assured the university’s promoters of the continued support of the NCA and urged other stakeholders to contribute to the growth and success of the institution, which is expected to commence academic activities and admit its pioneer students for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Earlier, Rev. Dr. Bolanta recounted the journey towards establishing the university, describing it as a vision birthed in faith and sustained through perseverance despite the absence of visible resources at the beginning.
He said the objective was not merely to establish another university, but to build a citadel of learning where academic excellence would be combined with character formation and godly values.
In recognition of Hayab’s support and commitment to the vision, Bolanta presented the NCA chairman with an Award of Partnership, describing him as a respected spiritual leader whose encouragement and support contributed to the successful realisation of the university project.
The thanksgiving service therefore marked not only the granting of the NUC licence but also the fulfilment of a long-held vision to raise a new generation of transformational leaders.
