Late AIT Chairman, Raymond Dokpesi
By EMMANUEL KUJE, Abuja –
A federal commissioner at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon E.J. Agbonayinma has mourned the late founder of DAAR Communications Group, Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.
Dokpesi died on Monday, May 29, 2023 from injuries sustained as a result of a fall on his treadmill during an exercise. He was aged 71.
Agbonayinma said the death of Dokpesi was a great loss to the nation, Edo State, and the media industry where he left his imprimatur.
He described Dokpesi as an intrepid business investor, a restless political strategist and a compassionate community leader who affected the lives of locals in his Agebebode town with his philanthropy.
Agbonayinma said Dokpesi’s contributions to the human endeavours that he engaged in were quite remarkable.
According to him, “Chief Raymond Dokpesi’s death has discounted the tribe of good men in Nigeria. A good man had exited the stage at a time his experience and services were most needed.
“He was a genuine friend of mine, mentor, and big brother. He will be sorely missed by all of us who looked up to him for political counsel. My heart goes to his immediate family members, the management and staff members of DAAR Communication, and political associates.
“I pray that the Almighty will console all of us. Adieu, Ezomo. You were a great man. You came; you saw; you conquered. RIP.”
