A team of researchers and humanitarian initiative from the government of Hungary, “Hungary Helps,” visited the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto to inspect ongoing projects supported by the organization.
The Hungarian team was warmly received by the Diocesan Chancellor, Very Revd. Fr. Nuhu Iliya, and the Diocesan Project Coordinator, Fr. Jude Okpanachi.
The team toured various sites, including St. Patrick’s Schools in Illela and the Holy Family Diagnostic Centre in Sokoto.
According to the Sokoto Catholic Diocese Director of Communications, Fr. Pascal Salifu, the visit “further strengthens the collaborative efforts between Hungary Helps and the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto in fostering development, education, and healthcare within the region.”
Salifu added that the visit “reflects a shared commitment to human dignity and the empowerment of communities through sustainable initiatives.”
The Hungarian team’s inspection of the projects demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the success of the initiatives and the positive impact they have on the region.
The team visited St. Patrick’s Schools in Illela, where they witnessed the academic and infrastructural progress made in the school.
They also inspected the Holy Family Diagnostic Centre in Sokoto, which provides quality and affordable medical diagnostics to underserved populations.
The visit highlights the strong partnership between Hungary Helps and the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto in promoting development and empowerment in the region.
