Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom
Immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has debunked reports that he has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ortom dismissed the report as fake and deliberately misleading, saying it was a false, baseless and mischievous fabrication by desperate social media elements sponsored by political opponents who are unsettled by his continued relevance and influence.
“It was part of their infantile scheme, the agent provocateurs and fake news merchants went as far as manufacturing a fake APC membership card, falsely attributing it to Chief Ortom, and circulating the same online in a failed attempt to deceive the public”, Ortom was quoted as saying in a statement by his media aide, Terver Akase.
According to Akase, “This act is not only irresponsible but also exposes the depth of desperation among those behind it.
“I remains a proud, committed, and influential member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“He is the leader of the party in Benue State and a respected member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT). Those spreading such lies can only wish, because wishful thinking is all they have left.”
He urged members of the public to disregard and ignore the falsehood in its entirety.
