A lawmaker representing Akamkpa and Biase Federal Constituency, Hon Daniel Dasuki on Thursday said he is still remain the candidate for the Labour Party despite a Federal High Court’s judgement sacking him..
Addressing journalists at the NUJ Press Center, Calabar, in company of the state Chairman, Ambassador Ogar Osim, the lawmaker insisted that he remains the validly nominated candidate for the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State.
NATIONAL ACCORD had reported that the Federal High Court in its judgement last week terminated the lawmaker ambition for what the court said he was not validly nominated.
Hon. Dasuki, who left People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as governorship aspirant before joining LP, further said he was at no time offered any senatorial tickets in his former party
Also speaking, the Cross River State Chairman of Labour Party, Ambassador Ogar Osim, faulted the court’s judgement, saying that the House of Representative member was validly nominated.
According to him, the party had already appealed the judgement of the Federal High Court.
“We followed the law, we did our primaries in accordance with the extant laws”.
