The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday issued certificate of returns to Cross River State Governor-elect, Senator Bassey Otu and all the 18 members of the state House of Assembly.
The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state won 19 seat while the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had five members and Labour Party (LP) won one seat.
Receiving his certificate of returns, the governor-elect, Senator Bassey Otu, promised an all inclusive government and assured that his government will empower women and youths.
He said his administration would creat an enabling environment for youths in the state to develop their potentials while women to be fully equipped with skills.
The ceremony which was turned into a mini carnival saw the governor-elect, Senator Bassey Otu and his deputy Peter Odey being hosted at the U.J.Esuene stadium amidst traditional dances and cultural display.
In attendance were government officials, party bigwigs and all the local government council chairmen .
