Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami
Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has regained his freedom after spending several hours at the Abuja headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he was invited for questioning.
Malami, who personally issued a statement after leaving the EFCC facility, expressed gratitude and maintained that the allegations against him lack substance.
“In line with my undertaking to keep Nigerians updated on my invitation by EFCC, I give glory to Allah for his divine intervention,” he said.
He described the session with investigators as cordial and constructive, noting that he had been asked to return for additional clarification as the probe progresses.
“The engagement was successful and I am eventually released while on an appointment for further engagement as the truth relating to the fabricated allegations against me continue to unfold,” Malami stated.
The former AGF did not disclose details of the investigation but insisted he is confident the process will vindicate him.
